* Tvastar is based on the deity in Vedic religion of the same name. He is an artisan god, fashioner, and a solar deity; one of the more famous items he created was the Vajra that Indra weilded, which gave him the titles of "The Heavenly Builder" and "The Maker of Divine Implements".
** Another aspect of Tvastar was that he was the one to create the bodies of men and animals, and was usually the one invoked praying for offspring, and as such also gave him the title of "garbha-pati" or the "Lord of the Womb".
* The dragon Tvastar accompanies with him is named Vritra (name in Sanskrit meaning "enveloper"), which is based on the creature of the same name. Tvastar is depicted to have fathered Vritra who embodies drought and adversary of Indra, who he was eventually slain by.
