Overview

  Tanetomo

  Tanetomo is a peculiar support unit. While he possesses a solid arsenal of buffs and debuffs, his gameplay goal is indeed to have enemies kill him. While he can punish them with debuffs for this and provide healing for his allies, he has no innate means of surviving hits aside from elemental advantage. This means that on his own he is unlikely to take more than 2-3 hits before dying, which can be beneficial with a potent   Countdown-10000~-20000HP/turn for 2 turns (Debuff), but it is generally better to have allies who can complement his weakness and keep him alive so he can support his team back. Any units who can supply their team with   ProtectionDEF Up by 0.9x ~ 0.45x for 1 turn (Buff) or   TenacityDEF Up by 0.9x ~ 0.45x for 1 turn (Buff), such as   Aizen or   Akiha Gongen, can make Tanetomo a potent and lasting teammate. Tanetomo can patch up the latter's own weakness with his healing, ensuring the two provide maximum support to their remaining two teammates. If anything, Tanetomo is a unit with perfect synchronicity between character and gameplay.

Pros

+ Potent debuffs at decent rates against anyone who hits him, plus a guaranteed Countdown on death, while   TauntAdds aggro to unit for 2 turns. (Buff) on demand ensures enemies cannot ignore him.

+ Can boost allies' damage and durability as well as provide healing.

+ Extremely potent CS that applies Countdown at good range.

Cons

- Strictly needs defensive support if he wants to last, leaving only room for two dedicated damage dealers on the team.

- Can only apply two of the statuses he has an advantage against on enemies himself, and neither can be consistently approached to make him do reliable damage.
