Amatsumara is based on the eponymous kami of blacksmiths in Shinto Mythology, though he is also refered to as Amenomahitotsu no kami. | |||
Amatsumara's name means "eye-divination" which some translate further to "one-eyed", a reference to a common occupational hazard for blacksmiths. Fittingly enough one of Amatsumara's eyes is artificial. | |||
