The weapon multiplier of a Weapon Change immediately applies when the buff is bestowed even mid-attack. For example, {{Transient icon|MacRoich}} gains {{Status|en name=Weapon Change (Thrust)}} after attacking an enemy. Since the attack multiplier for Thrust range is 0.55x while Slash range is 0.45x, this means that MacRoich will deal slightly more damage to any enemy after the first enemy hit, including those in Slash range. Conversely, {{Transient icon|Licho|variant=Festival}} gains {{Status|id=160}} after attacking, so he will deal less damage to any enemy hit after the first enemy since his original range is Long Slash, and this applies even during his Long Slash attack.
