Mephistopheles is one of the few Transients who can say that they indeed originate from the world of Gehenna. He is a demon who was supposed to exist purely as a shadow. His appearance may resemble someone else's, but it is nothing more than a mirror image of someone unrelated. Here in Tokyo Mephistopheles is a manager of the shadow cabinet and backbone of the administration function. However, he imposes himself the part of a representative to the end, and he hardly makes any appearances on the center stage. He likes nothing more than to slowly corrupt humans he has contracted to as a faithful slave. The contractual phrase "let there be light" become absolute shackles for him. He loves light reflecting mirrors and is a demon who can appear through mirrors. Mephistopheles considers himself a butler and mirror that reflects just how far his master has fallen. But at the same time, he seems to get on badly with butlers who seek autonomy and superiority.
