===Slippery Tactics, Persistent Intentions (1)(Ikebukuro/Roppongi)===

While the Protagonist was meeting up with Toji, the Shadows that were following Kengo had finally made their move and attacked him, much to his annoyance as they refuse to stay down. Forced to retreat into a back alley, he ends up bumping into Garmr, having escaped before the Berserkers base was completely overrun but unable to find any other guild members in the chaos. As Garmr haphazardly explains the situation to Kengo, both are surrounded by another wave of Shadows lead by {{Transient icon|Kirito}}, having aligned himself with the Genociders and is in charge of finding unwitting subjects to create shadows from. Kengo is incensed that Kirito would stoop so low as to become a common criminal, but Kirito casually dismisses the insult and sends the Shadows to finish off him and Garmr. Cornered, Kengo has Garmr head to Shinjuku Academy in order to link up with the remaining Summoners while he deals with the threat. Annoyed, Kirito tells Kengo that the Genociders intend to destroy Tokyo in order to prevent the Game's outcome: when a guild inevitably claims victory, the world the Guild Master is from or is a proxy of will be declared the dominate world, forcing the other worlds connected to Tokyo to be stripped of their rights and power; by destroying Tokyo before that outcome can happen, the Genociders intend to ensure that none of the 23 worlds connected to Tokyo will have to experience such a catastrophe. Kirito then leave when even more Shadows appear, Forcing Kengo to desperately fight them off. However, just as Kirito makes a call to a mysterious benefactor, Kengo is saved by a mysterious Transient.

Cut to Tokyo Casino. Having escaped from the Shadows trying to detain them, Toji and the Protagonist make their way through the partially repaired Tokyo Casino and enter the emergency bunker to meet with Tsathoggua, though the Protagonist is still having trouble contacting Ryota. While Toji guards the entrance, the Protagonist rouses Tsathoggua from his sleep and explains the situation to him, including the not Shiro left concerning Azathoth. Tsathoggua tells them that Azathoth is a deity that created the world of the Old Ones and was responsible for his and every other Old One existing, though he claims his knowledge was sealed away a long time ago, making him unable to do anything to Shiro, and that Yog-Sothoth was his second-in-command before becoming an Exception. However, before he can get very far, Tsathoggua and the Protagonist are attacked by a Shadow bearing Hakumen's likeness. Calling itself {{Transient icon|Kayo}}, it intends to completely take over the Tycoons, forcing the Protagonist, and Toji once he realizes a Shadow managed to slip past him, to try and stop it.
