As Exception-Zabaniyya and the Protagonist's fight reaches the end, the Protagonist is forced to constantly dodge Exception-Zabaniyya's increasingly deadly attacks. Even after his flames catch up with them, Exception-Zabaniyya is surprised that their will to protected people they know have done wrong. This distracting gives Ryota, who managed to follow the Protagonist there, enough time to heal their wounds, giving them enough power to sever the energy flow and return Zabaniyya to normal. Zabaniyya congratulates them, revealing his last bit of sanity through the fight out of a desire to face someone willing to protect the people he was tasked to punish. As the two form a pact, Zabaniyya thanks Ryota for being the catalyst for him finding what he was looking for and asks that the Protagonist help Ryota end the Fisher King's rampage. However, the Protagonist is left confused as Zabaniyya refers to them as someone named Shaytan right as he disappears. Azazel, who was watching the fight, informs them that he sees several people residing in them, making them connected to every world in some way. However, he reassures them that this doesn't make them any less human before further warning them of how dangerous the game is and that they themselves are likely the finally obstacle necessary for them to win. Remembering the story Hati said Maria told him, the Protagonist resolves to win the game and make Tokyo a place where everyone is valued regardless of where they're from. | |||
Cut to Aoyama skyline. Having fulfilled his part in the struggle, Azazel meets up with Arsalan. After being filled in on Zabaniyya's fate, Arsalan informs Azazel that the Fisher King has escaped into the city and that they need his Sacred Artifacts ability to scan their territory to find the Exception's location as quickly as possible. Nyarlathotep, who got all the entertainment he needed from the chaos his actions caused, offers his services, and the three head out to get rid of the Exception. | |||
