{{Transient icon|Krampus|rarity=3}} is not bad, but is not as good as {{Transient icon|Krampus|rarity=4}} due to being {{Attribute|Wood}} compared to {{Attribute|Nether}}. LB1 on its own is fantastic since he’ll be able to boost his allies’ damage with a rare offensive buff and Default allows his skills to proc with more frequence and deal overall more damage. LB3 is situational and gated to if enemies even have much CP or not (which isn't frequent) and relies on them having Curse in order to let him deal higher damage, he can slap Curse to whatever hits him without much issue, but it's still inferior to straight-up applying it on attack. Thankfully, there's a handful who can inflict Curse, allowing LB3 to be approached better, which should be considered to optimize him.

Ultimately, the real draw to Krampus is his reliable -50 CP drain and {{Status|en name=Stigma}} infliction, which triggers while he attacks and therefore roughly and routinely doubles his damage against anything he hits.

'''Pros'''
'''Pros'''

+ Default Concentration bolsters both his damage and his proc rates very well.
+ Default and LB3+ allow {{Transient icon|Krampus}} to deal very potent damage, LB3+ in particular. LB3+ also lets him completely shut down enemy Charges.

+ LB1 allows him to boost his teammates' offense.

+ LB2, LB3+, and Charge let him inflict multiple debuffs, which can be very useful in certain team compositions.

'''Cons'''

+ LB1 offers a fantastic and rare buff in the form of Fervor which also gives CP on top of the skill also giving CP.
- Less-than-ideal proc rates for most of his skills; he'll need some help to make them consistent.

+ LB2 serves to slap Curse to his aggressors, with a good proc rate to back up, with LB3 allowing him to further abuse his Curse and comfortably damage his foes.
- LB2 triggers after damage is dealt, which makes it hard to efficiently use.

+ Charge is nice to prevent enemy movement with damage bolstered from Concentration.
- Slash attack range, which limits his LB3+, delegates him to a front-line role, and makes for less flexible team formations and setups.

'''Cons'''

- Essentially, 3☆ being Grass makes it inferior to 4☆, if only because Dark is not cockblocked nor weak to Fire or any other element.
===☆5 Krampus===

- By itself, LB3 is not generally optimally approached past the special damage bonus part.

- Takes getting hit to apply Curse compared to many who can guarantee it with just attacking.

Example gameplay role breakdown.
===☆3/☆4 Krampus===

'''Glass Cannon'''

{{Transient icon|Krampus}} specializes in damage output which hinges on his debuff infliction. If the enemy is given {{Status|en name=Curse}}, either by Krampus taking damage or through some other means, Krampus can utilize his innate damage boost against said debuff. Furthermore, Krampus is a very reliable source of {{Status|en name=Stigma}}, which also increases his damage output; if {{Status|en name=Concentration}} happens to also trigger, that damage will be strengthened even more.

'''Debuffer'''

Thanks to his skills, {{Transient icon|Krampus}} can inflict three separate debuffs through various means. He can give {{Status|en name=Curse}} by getting hit, although he'll be taking full damage himself; he can give {{Status|en name=Stigma}} by attacking, effectively doubling the damage enemies receive; and he can give {{Status|en name=Fear}} through his Charge. Although his attack range is limited, Krampus can prove to be useful, especially for certain team compositions that take advantage of these specific debuffs.

===☆3/☆4 Krampus===
{{Transient icon|Krampus}} serves as a damage dealer and debuffer. Because his skills have trouble triggering, anything that helps him do that job should be prioritized, such as Attack seeds and Skill seeds.

'''Damage Boosters'''

{{Transient icon|Krampus}}'s damage output mainly depends on {{Status|en name=Curse}} and {{Status|en name=Stigma}}, which are two debuffs. As such, he is a viable target for other buffs in order to multiply his damage further. Units such as {{Transient icon|Claude|variant=Christmas}} or {{Transient icon|Kenta|variant=Valentine}} can boost his offense considerably.

'''Damage Mitigation'''

{{Transient icon|Krampus}}'s only means of reducing enemy damage is through his {{Status|en name=Curse}} infliction, and he takes full damage regardless if the skill triggers or not. Because of this, he's virtually defenseless. It's highly recommended to pair him with units who can bolster his defenses, such as {{Transient icon|Surtr}}, {{Transient icon|Triton}}, or {{Transient icon|Marchosias}}.

'''Healers'''

Similarly, {{Transient icon|Krampus}} has no means of healing himself or other teammates. If you're attempting to trigger his {{Status|en name=Curse}}, then taking units who can heal his HP is especially vital, such as {{Transient icon|Choji}}, {{Transient icon|Chernobog|variant=Beachside}}, or {{Transient icon|Gyumao|variant=Valentine}}.

'''Debuff Exploitation'''

{{Transient icon|Krampus}} can inflict three separate debuffs which other units can take advantage of. {{Status|en name=Curse}} can be exploited by {{Transient icon|Hanuman|variant=Journey}}, for example, or Krampus himself can take advantage of Curse inflicted by other units, such as {{Transient icon|Shiro}}, {{Transient icon|Licho}}, or {{Transient icon|Fenrir|variant=Make Sail}}. {{Status|en name=Stigma}} can be capitalized on by units such as {{Transient icon|Fenrir|variant=Make Sail}} or {{Transient icon|Krampus|variant=Jiangshi}}, and {{Status|en name=Fear}} can be capitalized by units such as {{Transient icon|Nyarlathotep}}. If you'd like to really make use of his debuffs, you could pair him with units like {{Transient icon|Volos|variant=Beachside}}, who deals additional damage to enemies with nearly any kind of debuff.

==AR Equipment==

===☆3/☆4 Krampus===

ARs that bolster {{Transient icon|Krampus}}'s damage output are recommended, as that is his strength. Both {{AR Equipment|en name=Every Cloud Has a Silver Lining}} and {{AR Equipment|en name=Chocolate From The Abyss}}, for example, offer damage boosts against enemies inflicted with {{Status|en name=Curse}}, and those damage boosts stack with Krampus' innate one. Similarly, {{AR Equipment|en name=A Teacher and Student from Kamata}} gives Krampus a progressively stronger attack boost as the battle progresses.

Alternatively, you can play to Krampus' lesser strengths. If you'd like to shut enemies down even further past {{Status|en name=Curse}}, you could try {{AR Equipment|en name=Battle between Swordsmith and Swordsman}}, which gives Krampus the chance to remove enemy buffs as he attacks, or {{AR Equipment|en name=Double Hero of the Holy Eve!}}, which gives Krampus a failsafe {{Status|en name=Guts}} in case he takes too much damage trying to trigger said {{Status|en name=Curse}}.

'''Skill Reduction'''

{{Transient icon|Krampus}} already has subpar proc rates on a good portion of his skills, so to be inflicted with a penalty to trigger said skills is much more of a detriment to him than other units. Be wary of {{Status|en name=Obstruct}} and {{Status|en name=Drain}}.

'''Forced Movement'''

{{Transient icon|Krampus}}'s range is Slash, which means that in order to make full use of his attack range and skills, he must be a front-line unit. Unfortunately, this means that if he happens to be blown back by an enemy such as {{Transient icon|Amatsumara}}, he'll have a tough time getting back into place to effectively contribute to your team.
