"""Even if you should burn away to nothing, loyalty is the one thing that you must not give up. Do you understand, Tadatomo?"" ""I understand, Fath—ahem, never mind. Please pretend you didn't hear that.""
Tadatomo, who lost his father... Marchosias, raising a child who lost their father... Both have declared their undying loyalty to a master. One day, Marchosias encounters Tadatomo on the streets of Kabukicho, his shoulders slumped in defeat; concerned for the well-being of this downtrodden soul, Marchosias asks what's wrong, and learns that Tadatomo failed in his mission and fears how Shino would react were he still around to judge him for this disappointing outcome. Suddenly, Tadatomo finds himself lifted off his feet by Marchosias, as a child may be by their parent. The bonds between the two instantly grow exponentially, a new connection akin to that of father and son forming as both find comfort in the other's plight and derive joy in being able to alleviate it—if only by the smallest of margins."
