With his Sacred Artifact launching them into the sky, Tadatomo reveals that he intends to detonate, taking Kotaro down with him. However, Kotaro uses his Sacred Artifact to create clones of himself, allowing the original to slip out before the explosion. Back on the ground, Kotaro thanks Ose, who was conveniently passing by while on his own mission, for lending his aid. However, Ose immediately cashes in on the debt he feels Kotaro owes him when Acile and Toji appear.

Meanwhile, as Tadatomo plummets to the ground following the explosion, the Protagonist uses the nearly ninja as a springboard to save him while Toji mops up afterwards. Once he's on the ground, they confront Kotaro and Ose, the later of whom refers to the Protagonist in the same name {{Transient icon|Zabaniyya}} had called them before disappearing. As Kotaro subdues Toji, who is incensed that the ninja would consciously inherit the memories of another, Kotaro claims the Protagonist's memory loss is the result of mental overload, but Toji cuts him off, thinking it's nothing more than a trick meant to distract them. Before they can get any real information from them, Kotaro gets a call demanding that he and Ose return to the Tycoons' Portal, with Ose inviting the Protagonist to follow them if they wish to know more. Alice threatens to erase their access to the App, but Ose sees right through the bluff and escapes with Tadatomo's motionless body while the remaining gangsters attempt to bring them in

Cut to Hills Tower. After disposing of Tadatomo, Kotaro asks Ose what the nature of his mission was. The spy reveals he was tasked by Ophion to lure a Game Master to him, but discovered they needed an App user with high priority clearance from the Game Masters for his plans to have any real meaning. He suspects that user might be the Protagonist due to the fact that the Game Masters are trying to keep something hidden from them. However, they can't go into any major details as Kotaro reveals they were called back because someone was directly attacking the guild.

During Licht's 'betrayal' of the Tycoons, Alice runs into her contact: Entertainers member {{Transient icon| Christine}}. Alice demands that the Entertainers stop interfering in the APP's progression, but Christine refuses, claiming it's her duty to do everything she can to make sure the APP is as lively as possible, though she promises not to involve herself with the mess going on with the Tycoons. Their conversation ends when the effects of the museum attack reach them, forcing Alice to leave in order to protect her 'Red Knight'. As soon as Alice leaves, a mysterious Transient appears before Christine, chastising her for not warning the Game Master about '[their] arrival', though Christine merely states she is honoring Alice's request.

Cut to museum. As the gangsters back Licht, Melusine, and the Protagonist into a corner, Licht's control over the Sacred Artifacts he pilfered has become diminished, forcing Melusine to employ her Sacred Artifact's arsenal to cover for him. Luckily, Toji and Alice provide timely assistance, allowing the group to escape to a Tycoons safe-house only Licht and Melusine know about. As they struggle to piece together how they got into this situation, Licht reveals that, now that his plan has unraveled due to his premature betrayal, Ophion, thanks to his Egg Sacred Artifact's ability to spawn his own Olympus based army, is now in a position to claim full control of the Tycoons without any legitimate opposition. With time working against them, Licht is forced to restructure his plan so that he now acts to prevent Ophion from completing his mad plan. As the group prepares for their assault on the Tycoons' base, the Protagonist, having come to feel sorry for Licht being alone for so long, offers their hand in friendship, to which Licht hesitantly accepts. He then tries to release Melusine from the servitude he manipulated her into, but Melusine consciously chooses to remain by his side and protect him.

As the Protagonist's group struggles to make its way into Hills Tower, Hakumen has already made it to the top, taking out the last of the soldiers still loyal to Ophion. However, Ophion is unfazed by this development and, uninterested in doing the fighting himself, quickly supplements his ranks with Wyverns summoned from his Sacred Artifact, which quickly attack the Shadows flanking Hakumen, inciting a brawl. During the fighting, Ophion asks Hakumen why she insisted on attacking him when she knows she outclassed, to which he responds that it's merely retaliation for the destruction of Tokyo Casino, which she had built for the person she figures will be her eventual lord.

Cut to Kabukicho. While Ophion and Hakumen come to blows, Tetsuya, after clearing out nearby Tycoons forces, ducks into an alley in order to meet with Kirito. After learning of the Tycoons interest in Tsathoggua,Tetsuya, though unnerved by the fact that he knows that Kirito is a 'triple agent', considers handing him and the rest of the Summoners over to them, but, due to the injuries sustained during the fighting, is content with waiting for the Protagonist's 'negotiations' to commence before making any decisions. He then makes his way back to where Tetsuox was guarding the Summoners in order to confirm the information, only to discover, to his horror, that they, along with the others that were locked up with them, have disappeared without a trace. Frustrated that his leverage over the Protagonist has vanished, Tetsuya frantically begins searching for any trace of them. Meanwhile, the Summoners, thanks to Shiro's now rudimentary grasp on how the Old Ones teleportation works, make their way through Kabukicho's back alleys, though Xolotl is unsure why they're letting him tag along when they know he's part of the group that started the fiasco in the first place. After agreeing to help out in Xolotl's search for Hakumen, Shiro, despite having wiped himself out from a single teleportation, reveals he allowed the Outlaws to capture them so that he could get the full grasp of what's going on so they could help the Protagonist. Having discerned that their guild master has already made their way to the Tycoons' base thanks to the D-Evils, Shiro prepares to enact his plan, but he passes out right as Tetsuya and Tetsuox catch up with them, forcing them to run while Hanuman covers their escape.
