He is an earnest young monk who seeks to dedicate his life to the betterment of his physical and spiritual being. It is said that the universe will come to an end when the third eye upon his forehead opens, so he strives to keep it shut. This requires him to bury the seething emotions within himself and display total abstinence. He knows that to unleash the power of his third eye is to unleash shakti, the cosmic source, and be transformed into his final form. He was once shot through the heart with an arrow of love and has been captivated by his obsession with the emotion ever since. He feels uneasy in the presence of a certain crocodilian individual because he is reminded of the beast that accompanied the one who shot the arrow."

Furthermore, when the third eye in his forehead is opened it is said that the whole universe will be destroyed, but normally he keeps it closed. In doing so he locks his seething emotions within himself and displays the abstinence to control himself. But should Shiva's eye ever open once, it is said that the cosmic energy of the universe Shakti will be released and Shiva will transfigure to his final form. Once there was a time when the arrow of love was shot into Shiva's chest, and he has been swayed by that attachment. The sea beast who was always together with the owner of that arrow reminds him of said person, so he does not get on well with him.
