+As the group is dealing with the angels attacking them, Nyarlathotep dumps Gabriel into a jail cell at a hidden facility. As she struggles to get her bearings, she discovers that Nyarlathotep was also behind the disappearance of Arsalan, having kidnapped him beforehand. Arsalan demands that Nyarl explain what his endgame for doing this is, but all he says is that he merely wants to cause 'mind-bending fiction'.
+Cut to Shibuya. The group manages to use the pudding rapids Ryota made to escape the angels and make their way to a guild safe house. She informs the group that safe houses are established as a way to connect the number of Portals within a guild. As the group rests, Kengo asks Maria what the angels were talking about when they said she wasn't 'the real Maria'. After explaining that she was held up by Nyarlathotep in order to make her look suspicious, Maria reveals that, some time after arriving in Tokyo, she befriended the real Maria and took on her identity upon her death. They then decide that, as Arsalan, the only one that has any real control over Zabaniyya and the angels, is still missing, the best course of action is to save Gabriel, but can't go to the police as they are resistant to dealing with Transient related crimes. Fortunately, the Protagonist remembers what Nyarlathotep told him, and Maria realizes he must have been referring to Aoyama Cemetery, where the original members of the Missionaries formed the guild. However, she reveals getting there is a problem as that area is in the middle of a turf war with another guild: the Tycoons, a guild in Roppongi who's sole interest is gaining wealth and status.
