With the remaining D-Evils safely severed from their summoner's influence, the Protagonist prepares to form a pact with the leading {{Transient Icon|Devil}}. This causes Lil' Salomon to worry, as he fears that the Protagonist's indiscriminate pact making might overtax their strength. This debate is put on hold when the D-Evil begins leading them to its former Summoner, which turns out to be Shiro. The D-Evils are spawned from a book he holds, but he has no interest in controlling them. When the Protagonist approaches, the D-Evils assume they're a threat and, despite Shiro's attempts to get them to run, attack them.
